Personality: Sala doesn't have much friends. It's not because he's rude or bad-looking or anything. On the contrary, he is actually quite good-looking and he tries to be as polite as possible. He's just not good at dealing with people and has relatively low self-esteem (probably because he got pushed around a lot because of his small stature).

He is a very curious boy. Most times, his curiosity overrules his shyness and this leads to very uncomfortable and sometimes interesting encounters.

Sala felt uncomfortable about going to school in Ouran because the prospect intimidated him. He would rather have transferred to another public school but his parents forced him to go to Ouran because they thought that, if they send Sala there, he would become more sociable. Indeed, the boy has become less introverted and, in the course of a few weeks, has made more friends in Ouran than he ever had in Mori High. His initial distaste for the Ouran students is also starting to wane a bit. He denies it even to himself but he is starting to have feelings for a certain Ouran student by the name of Chiisako Kemuri.

Another aspect of Sala that disappoints his father, aside from his being unsociable, is his lack of love for sports. He's actually not a pretty bad athlete despite his stature but he would rather read or write than play sports and he is also a bit weak. He bruises easily but he keeps it from his parents since he is under the impression that it will make his father even more disappointed in him and he does not want to worry his mother.

Sala is also very fond of animals. And he has an especially soft spot for dogs. He has a pet dog whom he calls Shadow, a black and white Shiba Inu (much like Black Hayate from HagaRen).
